Let your Light shine

Hey everyone,

before I started work today I read this bible verse and it stayed on my mind the entire time.

For you are all children of light, children of the day.

We are not of the night or of the darkness.

( 1 Thessalonians 5:5)

It was titeled I am a child of light, not darkness!

This is so true. How often do I hear people saying Carpe Noctem, it is so much often then Carpe Diem. If we are children of the day, why dont we use it.
The other thought that came do my mind while I thought of this verse was a poem, originally from Marianne Williamson, the first time that I heard it was by Nelson Mandela, the second time I heard it in the movie Coach Carter.
Here the poem for you, it is called Our Deepest Fear  

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

My thought in connection to the bible verse about the poem is if we are really so scared of our power why dont we just pray to God to over come it. As we know from the bible verse, we are children of the light, why dont we use our light and let it shine.
Let your light shine for the Glory of the Lord. 
Go into the world and show them your light.
Use the day and not just the night.
It is easier to see a candel burn in the darkness than during the day but why dont we just be the light at night and day. I dont wanna say we should just be light during the day, we need to bring the light to the darkness and into the night so that there will be light and so that people will get to know God and be saved. What we are close to forget when we focuse on the darkness and to bring our light there, is that sometimes the darkness is to strong for us as a single light and that it takes more candels to make it shine. We also have to shine during the day cause if we stop shining during the day the darkness will take over again.
I ask you dont just let your light shine at night, let it shine all the time!!
Let people see your light every second of your life.
When you are meeting people let them think, wow this person has such a light around her I wish I would have that light. When they ask you for your light you can simply answer them you have the same light in you, it comes from God! God is shining through us and in our heart his light always shine, we just have to let it out and be seen.
So dont be afraid of your light and the power that you have with that light, it is a gift from God. Use it for his glory and let your light simply shine.
The first thing you can do to let your light shine is to simply put a smile on and let the joy of the Lord fill you!

God loves you and he will fill you with the light, with love and joy cause his love for us never stops.
